Use inline to reduce the risk of potentially damaging and data-disrupting voltage transients for PCs, terminals and peripherals.
Five MOV metal-oxide varistor protections between pins 2,3,4,5 and 7 all referenced to pin 1.
The MOVs will suppress any voltage above 26 VDC without affecting normal RS-232 voltage levels.
